Wholesale Champagne Glasses
From LoveToKnow Wine
Buying wholesale Champagne glasses will save you money when you are planning a large party or get together.
Types of Champagne Glasses
What type of wholesale Champagne glasses you buy really comes down to personal preference. Here is a list of the most common types of Champagne glasses on the market:
- Champagne flute – A flute glass is tall, narrow and has a long stem. Flutes are one of the most commonly used glasses for Champagne. Flutes are also sometimes referred to as tulip glasses.
- Coupe – This type of Champagne glass is also referred to as a goblet or saucer. They have a wide, shallow bowl and a relatively short stem. Take note though, most Champagne connoisseurs do not recommend drinking bubbly out of this style glass. The bubbles and the bouquet are lost since the surface area of the bowl is too wide.
- Trumpet flute – Much like the classic Champagne flute in design, except the bowl or globe is much more narrow at the bottom and wider at the top. Think of a "V" shape on top of a longer stem.
Different Materials
Once you have decided on what type of Champagne glass you would like, you need to decide on materials. Basically, wholesale Champagne glasses are made of either glass or plastic. Plastic, while not as nice, nor aesthetically pleasing as glass, may be the right route to go with if the party in which you are hosting is rather large. Buying plastic glasses is generally, often less expensive than going with glass. Glass, on the other hand is perfect if your party is rather small.

Serving Champagne
If you are serving large quantities of Champagne, it's best to enlist the help of as many people as possible. If you don't you will find that the Champagne you served to your first guests will be a bit warm and a bit flat by the time you reach your last guest and the all important toast. Here are a few final tips for serving Champagne:
- Make sure each bottle is properly chilled – If you come across a lukewarm bottle, stick it in a wine bucket that is half full of ice and half full of water. If you don't have a wine bucket available, any sink will do.
- Always point the cork away from guests…and glass – If your Champagne is properly chilled, the cork will not pop off and fly into the area. If you rarely open Champagne, read up on how to properly open a bottle so no one gets hit with an errant cork.
- Fill the glass – So you don't have an overflow of Champagne in your guests glasses, first fill the glass half full and wait for the bubbles to subside, then fill the remaining glass until it is about three quarters full.
