Viu Manent Viognier Secreto 2005 Tasting Notes
Chile's Viu Manent has not hidden this Secreto very well. Not that they tried very hard to conceal it; their Viognier can be found in plain view, right out in the open in many wine retail shops. This is a solid value wine that has a less-than-shy floral, pear, and tropical fruit nose with agility to seduce. These exotic aromas don't recede in the mouth either; there's a convention of pears, papaya and honeysuckle flavors that follows with a touch of cleansing minerals. Lush, creamy, and round, there's a surprising spritz of effervescence and lemons in the finish. Secreto Viognier is a very good value and a versatile food partner to pair up with a roast chicken, pork loin, salmon, chowder, and Asian cuisine.
