Wine Storage Tips
Whether your wine storage is portable or permanent, here are a few wine storage tips you should follow to ensure that your wine does not turn or go bad while it is patiently waiting to be consumed.
- Keep you wine bottles out of direct sunlight – For refrigerator models, you need not worry about direct sunlight because the doors are made out of tinted, tempered glass which effectively blocks sunlight. For tabletop wine storage units, don't put you wine bottles in an area that receives a lot of direct sunlight. The sunlight, over time, will spoil the wine.
- Turn your bottles – Turn your bottles periodically to keep the cork from drying out.
- Watch the humidity levels of the room – Too low humidity levels will dry out the cork.
- Keep an eye on the humidity controls in your wine refrigerator – Too low humidity levels in a wine refrigerator will also dry out the wine cork.
- If you don't drink wine that often, storing it in your refrigerator is fine – Refrigerators are cold so be sure to take your wine out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before serving.
