Country: United States

Tasting Notes:
This is a sensational wine. It's a masterful blend on Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Charbono and Petite Syrah. Winemaker is David Swift Phinney. Region is Napa Valley.

Wine Spectator gives The Prisoner a 92 and notes the wild berry and currant flavors with hints of chocolate and vanilla.

I don't think that goes far enough. This is a very deep, bold and rich wine. It is exceptionally balanced, without being bland. It is hard to describe the depth. Certainly ripe black berries, currants, blueberry jam and dried cherries dominate the attack. Luscious and viscous and syrupy in texture, it lingers on the palate for 10 seconds on the aftertaste.

At $25, it a steal. Go buy as much as you dare.
