This is just a lovely Cabernet. Reticent at first, the wine slowly blooms into a rich, earthy bowlful of juicy, spicy berries. The oak is present but only serves to compliment the deep, dark fruit. Apparently, this wine is a blend of four vineyards in Paso Robles. According to the Eberle website, this particular wine is the house pour at the Playboy Mansion. I’ve always known I was blessed with superior taste, but it feels good to have Hugh Hefner confirm the fact. This is the lower priced Cabernet from Eberle and it makes me hunger for their more “select” offerings. Eberle is the name of the family that owns the winery, and it translates from German into "small boar".
