Whether you are a knowledgeable wine drinker or a novice, the last thing you want to happen is for wine to become boring. To ensure that the aforementioned boredom does not ever take root in your wine tasting experiences you need to explore all the plentiful offerings in the vast world that is wine. To help you along the trails of this exploration, why not learn about a different Grape Varietal.
Banishing Boredom
After awhile, don't all Cabs begin to taste the same? Big, complex, maybe a few hints of Vanilla, maybe a little earthy, but in the end, it's still a Cab. If this describes how you've been feeling lately about your once favorite type of wine, choose another Grape Varietal and take a break from the same old Cabs, Merlots or whatever wine is your standard "go-to" bottle and get excited about wine again.

Striking a Balance
By checking out a different Grape Varietal than what you're used to, you not only expand your wine knowledge, but you may also come across a new favorite. Drinking different types of wine also strikes a great balance between the new and old, all but guaranteeing that you will never again, be bored with wine. Also, when you're ready to go back to drinking a bottle of your favorite Chard or Cab, you'll be reminded of why you fell in love with wine in the first place.
